Derek Winn has worked in employee benefits since 2008, advising employers on plan design, funding arrangements, compliance, and other driving factors for the modern workforce.

Before that he was a high school teacher, which turned out to be reasonable preparation for his role today. The hard part of this work is generally not the facts, it is breaking down complex topics to help individuals better understand them.

He was named BenefitsPRO Broker of the Year in 2020, and is frequently asked to speak and to mentor his peers. He holds a Healthcare Fiduciary Coach certification.

In his free time, he enjoys time with his wife, three children, and yellow labrador.
